About PennyCheck
PennyCheck provides free, interactive cost calculators for life's most expensive decisions. Every estimate is built on real data from government databases and industry reports — with sources you can verify yourself.
How It Works
Choose a calculator, answer a few questions about your situation, and get a personalized cost estimate instantly. All computation happens in your browser using deterministic formulas — no account required, no data sent to servers until you choose to connect with a professional.
Our Standards
- Every number is sourced and dated — we cite where the data comes from and when it was verified
- Cost ranges reflect real market data from government databases, court fee schedules, and professional surveys
- All tools pass automated quality checks — 18+ validation checks per tool including formula verification, source liveness, and content depth
- State-specific content is genuinely unique — each state page reflects that state's laws, rates, and legal landscape
- All tools are free with no account, no email, and no phone number required to use
- Revenue never influences results — see our Affiliate Disclosure

What We Cover
PennyCheck covers six major cost categories: legal (divorce, custody, DUI), home (roofing, HVAC, painting), health (procedures, dental), money (taxes, retirement, savings), work (business formation, salary), and life(college, wedding, moving). Each calculator provides state-specific estimates using that state's actual fees, rates, and regulations.
For Website Owners
Every PennyCheck calculator can be embedded on your website for free. The embed code is available in our embed directory. Embedded calculators include a "Powered by PennyCheck" attribution and automatically resize to fit your layout.
